Kenneth Mettel was named to his current position in 2006, after serving five years as the company's vice president-planning and analysis. Prior to joining United Rentals in 2001, Mr. Mettel held senior management positions with International Paper as vice president, strategic planning, and with Unilever as director of financial analysis. His previous experience includes five years as finance manager, U.S. Toys with Mattel, Inc.
